Editors
Editor-in-Chief: Jeff Munroe studied journalism at Michigan State University and then received a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America and served Young Life in a variety of roles for three decades in West Michigan and Europe. He also served as Executive Vice President of Western Theological Seminary, is the author of Reading Buechner and Telling Stories in the Dark, and wrote the first Reformed Journal blog, when it was “The Twelve” for Perspectives Journal in 2011. He has been editor of the RJ since 2020.
Blog Editor: Steve Mathonnet-VanderWell is a recently retired minister of the Reformed Church in America. He has been the convener of the Reformed Journal’s daily blog since its inception in 2011. He and his wife, Sophie, reside in Des Moines, Iowa.
Poetry Editor: Rose Postma received her M.A. in English from Eastern Kentucky University and her M.F.A. in creative writing (poetry) from the University of Missouri–St Louis. Her poetry has been published in Plainsongs, Atlanta Review, Valparaiso Review, and Lyrical Iowa among others. She lives in Iowa with her family.
Review Editor: Deb Van Duinen is the Arnold and Esther Sonneveldt Professor of Education at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and director of Hope College’s Big Read Lakeshore program. Her areas of teaching and research focus on adolescent literacy, young adult literature, and secondary education. She has been part of the Reformed Journal editorial team since 2015.
Review Editor: Keith Starkenburg is an Associate Dean at Western Theological Seminary. He directs the Vita Scholars Program, an accelerated B.A./M.Div. program at Hope College and Western Theological Seminary.
Managing Editor: Phil Tanis has served as a church communicator for the last quarter century, for both the Reformed Church in America and World Communion of Reformed Churches. He has been managing editor of both Perspectives Journal and Reformed World.
