James W. Vining (PhD, University Wisconsin Milwaukee) is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Governors State University - a regional state university in the Chicago Southland. His research interests include the intersections of religion, politics, and rhetoric. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in Bible, Religion, Culture, and Religious Education, Jim spent 15 years in pastoral ministry in various contexts before entering academia and Communication Studies.
