It’s not always easy
to carry good wishes

and admiration
in a see-through bag

ready to toss up like confetti
hoping enough will stick
to needed parts of willing targets

who are ready to make
that connection, or
be that perforated, holy person

able to admit she has been
hoping you would show up

so she could spread her arms out
in anticipation of relief
